Notting Hill in mille colori

Notting Hill é sicuramente una delle tappe da fare quando si visita Londra. Resa celebre dall’omonimo film con Julia Roberts e Hugh Grant, questa zona di Londra il fine settimana é un tripudio di profumi e colori. Il Portobello Road Market, il famoso mercato che si tiene qui ha bancarelle di ogni tipo, dall’abbigliamento vintage agli street food di cucine da tutto il mondo. Qui si possono non solo comprare souvenirs, ma anche abiti usati o arredamento per la casa in stile shabby chic.Il mercato é aperto tutti i giorni della settimana ma il mio consiglio é quello di andarci il sabato, dove potrete trovare il mercato con tutte le sue bancarelle al completo. La fermata piú comoda per visitare Portobello é Notting Hill Gate, linea gialla e verde della metro. Una delle attrazioni piú belle e colorate sono sicuramente le casette colorate in toni sgargianti con piccole porticine meravigliose, anch’esse di colori accesi e vivaci. Ricordatevi anche di farci un salto durante il famoso carnevale di Notting Hill, se siete a Londra l’ultimo weekend di agosto, quando si festeggia il Bank Holiday.

Notting Hill is definitely one of the things to do when you visit London. Celebrated by the same film with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, this weekend London area is a delight to smells and colours. The Portobello Road Market, the famous marketplace here has stalls of all kinds, from vintage clothing to street food with kitchens from all over the world. Here you can not only buy souvenirs but also vintage clothes or shabby chic style home furnishings. The market is open every day of the week but my advice is to go there on Saturday where you can find the market with all its stalls open. The most convenient tube stop to visit Portobello is Notting Hill Gate, the yellow and green tube line. One of the most beautiful and colourful attractions is definitely the colourful houses in shining tones with small marvellous doors. Also, remember to make a leap during the famous Notting Hill carnival if you’re in London on the last weekend in August when the Bank Holiday is celebrating.
